Members of Rothwell Figg’s U.S. Market Entry team recently returned from the 2024 SelectUSA Investment Summit, the leading forum for inbound investment in the United States. At Rothwell Figg’s Fedtrade® booth in the Exhibition Hall, consultants and staff engaged with numerous enterprises looking to establish a foothold in U.S. markets.

The Rothwell Figg team listened to the challenges and concerns facing companies looking to launch and expand in the U.S. market, ranging from a beachhead corporate formation to the all-important job of identifying assets and rights, including valuable intellectual property (IP) assets. Companies are also identifying proper site locations, addressing issues related to ordinary business concerns, and handling the unique personal issues often encountered by companies exporting for investment in the U.S., such as immigration and visa requirements for foreign nationals to be involved in company operations in the United States. Rothwell Figg representatives talked through solutions and how our U.S. Market Entry practice – leveraging experience as well as far-reaching outside relationships – can make the challenges of U.S. market entry easier.

The setting at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland, and its expansive venue provided an unmatched environment, allowing the Rothwell Figg team the opportunity to touch base with some long-time colleagues and a host of new acquaintances. The team was led by James Hastings, David Schiavetti, Martin Zoltick, and Jess Collen, as well as marketing manager Caroline O’Banion.

Also on the agenda for the U.S. Market Entry team was a series of meetings with various state and government representatives who are assisting companies seeking to establish business and make direct investment in the U.S. market.

It was clear from SelectUSA that the entire world is still laser-focused on opportunities in the United States and the ability to do business in the USA. We appreciated the opportunity to meet with entrepreneurs, small and midsize enterprises (SMEs), and investors from virtually every country across the world to learn about the challenges they’re facing and to discuss how Rothwell Figg’s U.S. Market Entry team can help with their U.S. legal business solutions.
